Bayern suffered a dramatic home defeat to Inter in the first leg of the 2024/25 Champions League quarter-finals, 1-2.
The first half was played with a slight advantage for the hosts, but the only goal was scored by the away team. Shortly before the break, Carlos Augusto made a counterattack from the left, Marcus Thuram passed it to the onrushing Lautaro Martinez, and the Argentinean scored.
Throughout the second half, Rothen desperately tried to get even, created a number of chances, and finally achieved their goal: the legendary Thomas Müller, who will leave the club in the summer, came on as a substitute and finished off a pass from Konrad Laimer with a point-blank shot.
But Vincent Kompany's charges did not rejoice for long: Carlos Augusto launched another counterattack, and his cross was closed by the fresh Davide Frattesi.
The return match will take place next week, on April 16 in Milan. Before that, both teams will play home matches of their championships: Bayern against Borussia D, Inter against Cagliari.
