The starting lineups of Arsenal and Real Madrid for the first quarter-final of the 2024/25 Champions League have been announced.
Ukrainian Gunner Oleksandr Zinchenko will start the game on the bench. The versatile player has rarely made it into the starting lineup this season, appearing on the pitch 17 times in total.
Alexander last played from the first minutes for the club on March 12 against PSV (2:2) in the return match of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League – there he came out in the center of midfield and scored his debut goal of the season.
Let us recall that another Ukrainian, goalkeeper Andriy Lunin , was left out of the Real Madrid squad due to a soleus injury sustained earlier in the Spanish Cup match against Real Sociedad (4:4). In total, Andriy has played 12 matches this season (four of them were clean sheets), conceding 19 goals.
Lunin's rival Thibaut Courtois has fully recovered and returned to the starting lineup. Winger Bukayo Saka will play in the starting lineup for Arsenal for the first time after a long break, having previously missed more than three months due to injury.
The Arsenal vs. Real match will take place in London at the Emirates Stadium. It starts at 22:00 Kyiv time.
