In the 2025/26 season, Ukraine will be represented by four clubs in European club competitions, marking the lowest number in over two decades, reports the Baltimore Chronicle.

This outcome results from Ukraine’s drop to 18th place in the UEFA country coefficient rankings, which led to the loss of one qualification spot in European tournaments.

Ukraine’s representation in the 2025/26 European competitions:

  • Champions League: The Ukrainian champion, Dynamo Kyiv, will start its campaign in the second qualifying round.
  • Europa League: Shakhtar Donetsk, as the Ukrainian Cup winner, will begin from the first qualifying round.
  • Conference League: Oleksandriya, which finished second in the Ukrainian Premier League, and the team that secures fourth place (with contenders including Karpaty, Polissya, or Kryvbas) will enter in the second qualifying round.

The reduction in the number of Ukrainian clubs competing in Europe is a consequence of underwhelming performances in recent seasons, which negatively affected the country’s UEFA ranking.

Earlier we wrote that Belarus returns to international tournaments with full national symbols.
