Ukrainian Lyudmyla Kichenok and Australian Ellen Perez were defeated in the third round of Wimbledon doubles by Babos/Stefani, ending their run at the tournament.

Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmyla Kichenok and her Australian partner Ellen Perez failed to reach the Wimbledon women’s doubles quarterfinals. In the third round, the seventh-seeded pair were defeated by the tenth-seeded duo of Timea Babos (Hungary) and Luisa Stefani (Brazil), reports Baltimore Chronicle.

The match lasted 1 hour and 36 minutes and ended with a score of 7–5, 6–4 in favor of the Hungarian-Brazilian pair. Kichenok and Perez recorded two aces, committed six double faults, and failed to convert either of their two break points in the final game. Babos and Stefani did not serve any aces, made only one double fault, and secured two breaks of serve.

The third-round clash took place on July 7 as part of the doubles draw at Wimbledon, the prestigious Grand Slam tournament held on grass courts in the United Kingdom. The total prize fund for this year’s edition is £21,902,000.

This encounter marked the second meeting between the two teams. In late June, Kichenok and Perez had defeated Babos and Stefani in the semifinals of the WTA 500 event in Bad Homburg, Germany.

En route to the third round at Wimbledon, Kichenok and Perez overcame Chinese pair Xu Yifan and Yang Zhaoxuan in the opening round, followed by a win over Magda Linette (Poland) and Bernarda Pera (USA) in the second round.

Following this loss, no Ukrainian players remain in the adult draws at Wimbledon 2025.
