Oleksandr Usyk, who holds the WBA, WBO, WBC, and IBO heavyweight titles, and IBF champion Daniel Dubois will share a total purse of $203.5 million for their upcoming unification bout, reports Baltimore Chronicle.
According to the published figures, the Ukrainian boxer will receive $132.28 million, while the British fighter is set to earn $71.22 million. These amounts represent the highest earnings of both athletes’ professional careers.
Previously, Usyk earned $114 million for his rematch against Britain’s Tyson Fury, having made $45 million in their first encounter.
The rematch between Usyk and Dubois is scheduled for July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London. The fight will determine the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
Their first bout took place in August 2023 in Wrocław, Poland, where Usyk knocked Dubois out in the ninth round to retain his WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF titles.
Tensions have escalated ahead of the rematch. During the press conference, Usyk and Dubois engaged in a heated exchange over a controversial moment from their first fight, when the British boxer landed a low blow. Usyk also took the opportunity to humorously troll his opponent. A day earlier, during the face-off at Wembley, Dubois pushed and insulted the Ukrainian champion. He later justified his aggressive behavior.
