Renowned boxing trainer John Fury, father of world champion Tyson Fury, shared his thoughts on a potential rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and British fighter Daniel Dubois. According to Fury, Dubois is in his prime and has a strong chance of winning, reports Baltimore Chronicle.
Fury emphasized the age difference between the two fighters, pointing out that Usyk is already 38 or 39 years old, while Dubois is younger and currently at the peak of his physical condition. He also recalled Dubois’s recent match against Anthony Joshua, calling it intense and unpredictable until Dubois landed a decisive blow that stunned Joshua.
Fury highlighted Dubois’s knockout power, asserting that if he manages to land a solid punch on Usyk, it could end the fight in his favor. He added that the bout with Tyson Fury drained a lot of energy from Usyk, which might affect his performance in a future clash with Dubois.
“I wish Usyk good luck, but he’s been around too long. This is the right moment for Dubois. I’m backing him,” John Fury stated.
