How Much Usyk Earned from Dubois Fight and How Much He’ll Pay in Ukraine

Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk is expected to pay over $30 million in taxes on his $132 million earnings from the fight against Daniel Dubois.

Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk is expected to pay over $30 million in taxes on his $132 million earnings from the fight against Daniel Dubois.

Ukrainian boxing legend Oleksandr Usyk is required to pay around $30 million (over 1 billion UAH) in taxes from the income he received after defeating British boxer Daniel Dubois. This was confirmed by lawyer Roman Symutin in a comment to the media, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to “Novyny.LIVE“.

Usyk earned a record-breaking $132 million from the fight. Under Ukraine’s Tax Code, any resident receiving income from abroad is obligated to declare it and pay taxes in Ukraine.

According to Symutin, the boxer must pay 18% personal income tax, which amounts to approximately $23.81 million or 995 million UAH. Additionally, a 5% military levy must be paid, which is roughly $6.6 million or 275.7 million UAH.

In total, the tax liability reaches 1.2703 billion UAH. However, as the expert pointed out, if the income tax has already been paid in the country where the income was earned—and if there is a double taxation treaty with Ukraine—then taxes do not have to be paid again, provided that proper documentation confirming the payment is available.
