Chelsea, without Mudryk, held on to victory over the Premier League newcomer – the opponent almost made a mega-comeback (video)

Chelsea, led by Ukrainian winger Mikhail Mudryk, beat Luton away in the match of the 20th round of the English Premier League (EPL) . The match at the Kenilworth Road stadium ended with a score of 2:3 .

Mauricio Pochettino's team took the lead in the 12th minute, when Cole Palmer took advantage of a blunder by the home team's defender and sent the ball into the far corner from outside the penalty area.

Another six minutes passed and the home team scored according to the rules – Ross Barkley headed into the far corner after a corner kick. In the 86th minute, Luton reduced the gap to a minimum – Adebayo scored.

At the end of the match, Rob Edwards' men bravely went forward and tried to snatch a draw, but the Londoners managed to hold on to victory. Mudryk was included in the list for the fight, but did not take to the field.

Let us note that in this match, Luton surpassed Chelsea in the number of shots – 15 versus 12, although they hit fewer shots on target – 6:8. In terms of expected goals (xG), the elite division debutant also had an advantage – 2.81 to 1.57.
