“Dynamo” took revenge from “Chernomorets” and rose to third place in the UPL (video)

The goalkeeper's error left the “sailors” without points in the game with the capital's giants.

Dynamobeat Chernomorets in the home match of the 19th round Ukrainian Premier League (UPL). The match at the Valery Lobanovsky Stadium in Kyiv ended with the score 1:0.

The “white-blues” scored the only goal in the first half. In the 37th minute, goalkeeper of the Odessa club Daniil Varakuta released the ball from his hands after a pass from the right flank by Nazar Voloshin, and Vladimir Shepelev finished the ball into an empty net.

Dynamo could have won with a big lead, but they didn’t capitalize on their chances. Vladimir Brazhko had the best chance in the 71st minute, but hit the post.

Thus, Alexander Shovkovsky’s team took revenge on the “sailors” for their defeat in the first round of the current Ukrainian Championship. Then “Dynamo” in Odessa lost to “Chernomorets” with a score of 2:3.

After this victory, Dynamo (34 points) rose to third place in the UPL, beating Polesie (33 points) in the standings. The Kiev team is three points behind the leader Krivbass, but has two games in hand. Chernomorets (23 points) is in ninth position.

In the next round, Dynamo will meet with Veres on March 7, and Roman Grigorchuk’s team will fight with Vorskla on March 9.
