“Empoli” with Kovalenko snatched victory in the Serie A match and moved away from the relegation zone (video)

The Ukrainian helped his team defeat Sassuolo.

EmpoliUkrainian midfielder Viktor Kovalenko beat Sassuolo on the road in the match of the 26th round of the Italian Serie A .The productive match ended with the score 2:3.

In the 11th minute, the guests took the lead thanks to an accurate shot from Sebastiano Luperto.

After the break, the hosts got even – in the 54th minute Andrea Pinamonti converted the penalty.

Ten minutes later, Empoli got the right to take a penalty kick and Mbaye Niang missed from the mark.

However, in the 77th minute the score in the match became equal again – Gianmarco Ferrari scored for Sassuolo.

It could have ended in a draw, but in stoppage time Empoli managed to snatch victory. In the 90+4th minute, Simone Bastoni scored the decisive goal.

Note that Kovalenko was in the starting lineup for Empoli and was replaced in the 80th minute of the match. For the 28-year-old Ukrainian, this is his first start since December 30 last year. In total, Victor has 12 matches this Serie A season, in which he scored one goal and one assist.
