Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov met with the CEOs of leading global companies Axon and Dedrone — Rick Smith and Aaditya Dekarkonda. Axon is a global leader in the development of high-tech solutions for public safety. The company specializes in body cameras for recording police activities, software for video and data management, as well as drones and robots for real-time monitoring and security. Founded in 1993 in the USA, Axon is now one of the largest suppliers of innovative solutions for law enforcement and security. The company’s owners include founder Rick Smith and various investors from different sectors. Dedrone is part of Axon’s global ecosystem and offers technology for counter-drone operations. The adoption of such solutions in Ukraine will significantly enhance the country’s defense capabilities and improve the efficiency of law enforcement in the current technological warfare context, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to Mykhailo Fedorov.
During the meeting, innovations in drone technology, radio-electronic warfare (REW), and advanced electronic systems needed for national security in the context of modern technological warfare were discussed. Fedorov emphasized that today’s security landscape not only requires the creation of new solutions but also strategic planning for future protection of freedom.
The Ukrainian side helped the Axon team establish connections with more than 170 Ukrainian manufacturers within the Brave1 military innovation cluster. This opens up new opportunities for experience exchange, collaboration, and the implementation of projects aimed at strengthening the country’s defense capacity. Additionally, Fedorov invited Axon to join the Defense Tech Valley — the largest defense technology exhibition, which will take place in September in Lviv. At the event, Ukraine will showcase developments that are already changing the situation on the front lines.
The minister stressed that the country is actively forming an ecosystem of defense innovations in partnership with global technology leaders, which is critically important for Ukraine’s security and victory.
