"Yedyna Shkola" became a paid service in September 2025, but parents can use the free state electronic diary "Mriya" for schools in Ukraine.

With the start of the new school year, Ukrainian parents have encountered a change in the use of the electronic school diary “Yedyna Shkola”: the previously free service now requires payment for access, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to lechia-gdansk.pl.

The “Yedyna Shkola” app has traditionally been used to track children’s academic performance, check homework, and communicate with teachers. It is available for download on both iOS and Android platforms.

From September 2025, the service introduced a subscription necessary for full access to all features. Without it, users have limited access to the app’s main functions.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine explained that there are more than 15 different electronic school platforms on the market, and “Yedyna Shkola” is a private development. Its owners have the right to set their own pricing, and schools are not obligated by the state to use any specific system. The choice of platform is made by the school’s pedagogical council, respecting the institution’s autonomy, while parents have the right to refuse paid services.

At the same time, the Ministry reminded that the state provides a free electronic school diary, “Mriya,” available to parents, students, and teachers. The Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, confirmed on his Telegram that any school can join “Mriya” at no cost.

Therefore, even though “Yedyna Shkola” has become a paid service, Ukrainian schools and parents have a legitimate free alternative through the state-approved platform, which offers similar functionality.
