Cloudflare announced on Tuesday that it had fully resolved a network disruption that temporarily limited access to several major websites for hours, reports Baltimore Chronicle, with reference to ABC News. The company stated that a fix had been deployed by approximately 10 a.m. ET, restoring normal operations across affected services.
According to Cloudflare’s official status page, the issue initially surfaced earlier in the morning, prompting an alert about a disruption impacting “multiple customers.” At around 7 a.m. ET, the company confirmed it was investigating a problem that could affect numerous users across its infrastructure.
Shortly afterward, Cloudflare reported that recovery had begun. The company noted that while services were returning to normal, some users might still face elevated error rates during ongoing remediation measures. The outage impacted access to several widely used platforms, including social media service X and the AI-based chatbot ChatGPT, both of which appeared to experience partial or complete downtime during the incident.
Cloudflare provides online infrastructure solutions designed to manage user traffic, mitigate cyberattacks, and optimize content delivery for organizations worldwide. During the disruption, ABC News encountered error pages from both X and ChatGPT, each citing Cloudflare-related issues and directing users to the company’s website for further updates.
Both X and OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, did not respond to requests for comment. As of 10:30 a.m. ET, access to ChatGPT and X appeared to be fully restored for users.
