YouTube has introduced a new feature called Recap, allowing users to review their most notable video habits from the past year, повідомляє Baltimore Chronicle. The feature generates up to twelve cards highlighting top channels, favorite topics, and the evolution of individual viewing preferences, giving users a detailed overview of their activity on the platform.
The Recap experience shares similarities with Spotify’s Wrapped, which summarizes listeners’ favorite tracks and artists annually, and other streaming services like Apple Music and Amazon Music have created comparable features. YouTube Recap goes further by assigning a “personality type” to each user based on viewing habits, such as Adventurer, Skill Builder, or Creative Spirit, echoing Spotify’s approach to music personalities.

Recap is currently available to YouTube users in the United States starting today and is expected to expand globally within the week. The feature can be accessed on mobile devices or desktops through a dedicated button on the YouTube homepage or under the “You” tab in the user menu.
While Recap will provide statistics on music listening, including top artists and songs, it will not replace the existing YouTube Music Recap, which continues to offer an annual review of top artists, songs, genres, and podcasts within the YouTube Music app. Users of the YouTube Music app will still have a separate recap dedicated to their music activity.
In parallel with the launch of Recap, YouTube released trend charts displaying the most popular topics, creators, podcasts, and songs among US users in 2025. MrBeast remains the top creator, while The Joe Rogan Experience continues to hold the number-one position among podcasts. Interestingly, the KPop soundtrack Demon Hunters, although dominant on the general top songs chart, was less popular in Shorts.
