The American company SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket with two reconnaissance satellites of the German Ministry of Defense.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Space.

A Falcon 9 rocket launched the SARah-2 satellite into low Earth orbit (LEO) from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The flight was originally scheduled for Saturday, December 23, but was moved up a day to allow for additional pre-flight checks.

The SARah-2 mission sent two synthetic aperture reconnaissance satellites to the German military.

“The satellites will continue the process of replacing the aging SAR-Lupe constellation,” the mission description says.

According to SpaceX, SARah-2 was the eighth launch of the Falcon 9 first stage. The booster also landed for the eighth time, touching down at Vandenberg about eight minutes after liftoff.
