Information is being spread online that allegedly men with the third group of disabilities and their accompanying persons are not allowed to go abroad. The border guards responded.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the commentary of the speaker of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andrey Demchenko and the Center for Combating Disinformation on Telegram.

What happened

Information is being spread online that supposedly border guards do not allow persons with the third group of disabilities and those accompanying them to leave Ukraine if they do not have military registration documents.

Social networks also write about strengthening control of documents for those traveling using the “Path” system.

What the border guards say

Speaker of the State Border Guard Service Andrey Demchenko, in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine, emphasized that the passage of persons across the border is still carried out in accordance with the current legislation, in particular, the rules for crossing the border for citizens of Ukraine, approved by Government Resolution No. 57.

“The rules, among other things, determine the conditions for crossing the border during martial law, especially for men, citizens of Ukraine, who are generally restricted from leaving Ukraine. The rules clearly define the categories and conditions under which citizens can cross the border. Of course, border guards carefully They are studying documents that would provide grounds for a person to leave. This norm is determined for us by law,” he said.

In addition, Demchenko emphasized that border guards often record how people try to speculate on the conditions of crossing the border, following, for example, for other purposes, or using fake or fictitious documents. However, he stressed that there are no changes in the rules for crossing the border.

“There are no changes in the rules for crossing the border, but the State Border Service of Ukraine will always carefully check the conditions of departure and strictly comply with the legislation. Since the beginning of the year alone, almost 50 thousand Ukrainian citizens who did not fall under the conditions of entry have been denied exit at the border. and also 3 thousand fake documents were exposed,” the speaker added.

The Center for Combating Disinformation also denies information about an alleged ban on traveling abroad for persons with disabilities.

“In fact, the information being disseminated is not true. The rules for crossing borders for people with group 3 disabilities have not changed, as reported by the State Border Guard Service,” the message says.

Departure of men from Ukraine
