Volvo has revealed new details about the ES90 electric sedan. It is noted that the new model will be the first Volvo to be equipped with the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin processor. In terms of basic computing power, this is the most powerful Volvo car.
RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to the company’s press service.
DRIVE AGX Orin is NVIDIA's core computer for smart cars. It manages a variety of important systems and processes inside the car at ultra-high speeds. For example, the latest AI-based active safety systems, vehicle sensors, and efficient battery management. This is possible thanks to a high level of computing power – approximately 508 trillion operations per second.
The electric sedan will be built on the SPA2 architecture. After the EX90, it is the second car to feature the Volvo Cars Superset technology stack – a single set of hardware and software modules and systems.
According to the company, the Volvo ES90 has a lidar, 5 radars, 7 cameras and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Inside the car there is an advanced driver understanding system. The official debut of the new product is scheduled for early March this year.
