European countries are considering several possible proposals for a ceasefire in Ukraine. However, none of them have been agreed upon yet.

RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to Reuters.

On Monday, March 3, a spokesman for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said there were several options for a ceasefire in Ukraine that European leaders were considering following France's offer of a month-long initial truce.

“Obviously there are a number of options on the table. I just won't comment on all the options,” a spokesman for Starmer said.

The publication notes that European countries, led by Britain and France, are considering their own versions of a peace deal that includes Ukraine. Europe's efforts have intensified following last week's conflict between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House.

A month-long truce

On March 2, a summit on Ukraine was held in London to demonstrate common and firm support for Kyiv. The meeting was organized by the head of the British government, Keir Starmer.

As Western media have written, French President Emmanuel Macron does not believe in a ceasefire agreement that the United States of America (USA) and the Russian Federation (RF) could conclude. Therefore, Macron and Starmer are working on a joint plan to achieve peace in Ukraine. In particular, a month-long truce is proposed.

Le Figaro noted that the French-British plan envisages a “ceasefire in the air, at sea and in energy infrastructure” for one month. According to Macron, this plan has the advantage of allowing the ceasefire to be monitored.

However, there is currently no public support for Macron's idea from other allies. Also, Britain and France have not yet agreed on a partial month-long ceasefire between (Russia) and Ukraine, said the UK's Under-Secretary of State for Defence for the Armed Forces, Luke Pollard.

One British official, as reported by the Financial Times (FT), spoke of “various options” that would be discussed with American and European partners. At the same time, a one-month ceasefire has not yet been agreed upon.
