European leaders are seeking to quickly finalize a peace plan for Ukraine. Details of the plan have not yet been released.

RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to Reuters.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron have held separate calls with US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after the US and Ukrainian leaders held a contentious meeting in the Oval Office last Friday that led to the suspension of US military aid to Kyiv.

The publication noted that the breakdown in US-Ukrainian relations has strengthened efforts by the two European countries to pool ideas for a peace plan that would initially provide for a short ceasefire but would subsequently include broader security guarantees.

At the same time, according to the publication, Great Britain and France stated that the United States would be needed for future guarantees.

“We plan to have this plan in place in days, not weeks,” said a senior European diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Details of the plan have not yet been released, and one European diplomat said military leaders aim to finalise the military aspects within the next week.

One option, according to anonymous sources, is a partial one-month ceasefire that would cover air and sea attacks and those targeting energy infrastructure but not ground fighting, and would be supported by France, Britain and a coalition of other countries that want to join.

Let us note that today Zelensky stated that Ukraine and Europe are preparing a plan for the first steps to bring about a fair and sustainable peace.

According to the president, it will be ready in the near future.

Let us recall that earlier Zelensky outlined the first possible steps to resolve the conflict. Among them, in particular: the release of prisoners, an immediate ceasefire in the skies – a ban on missiles, long-range drones and attacks on civilian infrastructure, as well as an end to hostilities at sea if Russia does the same.

According to him, Ukraine hopes to quickly go through all subsequent stages and agree with the United States on a strong final agreement.
