Volkswagen is preparing to launch an affordable compact electric car that “every European” can afford. So far, only a concept version has been presented, and the production-ready version will have to wait until 2027.

RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to the Volkswagen press service.

It is already known that the new model will cost about 20 thousand euros. Volkswagen called the model ID.Every1 – “everyone”, that is, for everyone. It is based on the MEB platform, and the only electric motor is installed on the front axle. Its output is only 95 horsepower, the range on one charge of the battery, the capacity of which has not yet been made public, is also modest – up to 250 kilometers.

It was announced that the electric car will be able to accelerate to 130 km/h, and this, according to the automaker, should be quite enough for using the car in the city, for which it is intended.

The Volkswagen ID.Every1 is a 3.88-metre-long hatchback. The ID.Every1's interior is designed for four people, and the trunk holds 305 litres. Design features include compact optics, smooth body lines, a forked spoiler, darkened pillars, and illuminated Volkswagen emblems.

In total, Volkswagen will release nine models on the front-wheel drive MEB architecture by 2027.
