Ford is discontinuing the popular Focus and is not preparing a replacement for the C-class car. Focus previously left the US and Chinese markets, and in 2024 it became known that the model's history in Europe is also coming to an end. The last car will roll off the assembly line at the plant in Germany on November 30, 2025.

This is where the story of the Ford Focus, which was the most popular car in the world in the past decade, will end. The model sold well in Europe last year: in 12 months, Europeans bought more than 85 thousand cars of this model, and this is a solid figure, although 15 percent less than the circulation in 2023. Ford will not close the plant where the model is currently assembled, but will re-equip it into a service and logistics center.
In the fall of 2024, Ford CEO Jim Farley said that the American company would eventually abandon the production of “boring” cars like the Focus in order to focus on the production of iconic models – Bronco, Mustang, Raptor and others. In other words, the vector will shift towards crossovers, SUVs, pickups and commercial vehicles.
It is logical that by abandoning “regular” cars, Ford's position may weaken relative to competitors who continue to produce passenger cars for the masses. Ford's sales in the European market have already slumped: according to JATO Dynamics, they will have decreased by 16 percent in 2024, to 461,291 units. And with the end of Focus production, the brand's European model lineup will no longer have traditional passenger cars, since the Fiesta and Mondeo have already been retired.
