Russian troops attempted to approach Sudzha in the Kursk region via a gas pipeline. They were discovered by Ukrainian paratroopers and are now being destroyed.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a statement by the communications department of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Telegram channel.
“Thus, the enemy's sabotage and assault groups moved along the gas pipeline branch with the aim of gaining a foothold in the vicinity of the city of Sudzha. The enemy forces were promptly detected by the DShV aerial reconnaissance units,” the department said.
They noted that the enemy was immediately attacked with missiles, artillery and drones of various types.
“Currently, Russian special forces are being identified, blocked and destroyed. The enemy's losses in the Sudzha area are very high,” the department added.
The situation in the Kursk region
Let us recall that the Ukrainian military has been holding significant territories in the Kursk region for more than six months. Although Russian troops were able to retake some of the territory, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to control more than 300 square kilometers, including the city of Sudzha and its environs.
The British publication The Telegraph recently wrote that the US decision to stop the transfer of intelligence data to Ukraine has complicated the forecasting of attacks and the coordination of the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region. The publication's publication said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will probably have to leave the Kursk region so that the troops do not end up surrounded.
However, according to RBC-Ukraine sources, the Ukrainian command is not currently planning to withdraw troops from the Kursk region, although the situation there has indeed become more complicated. Informed sources of RBC-Ukraine noted that, on the contrary, measures are being taken to stabilize the situation and counteractions are being planned.
