Production of the Kia Ceed and XCeed will end in May this year. In Europe, the Kia Ceed family configurator is closed: deliveries will continue due to already ordered cars or warehouse stock. According to the Korean brand, the number of units produced will be enough to continue sales until the end of 2025.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Autoweek.

Sales of the Kia Ceed are quite stable: 65 thousand cars were sold in Europe in 2024 (-3%). However, the fate of the family was determined by politics: the European Union is tightening environmental standards, and the Kia plant in Slovakia will produce the EV4 electric car instead of the Ceed.

The Kia K4 is considered the petrol successor to the Ceed in Europe. But the model range of the new model will definitely be reduced: it will no longer be possible to choose between a cross-hatchback, a station wagon and a regular hatchback. The related Hyundai i30 appeared later, so it is not in danger of being retired for now. However, in the future, the South Korean company will certainly reduce the range of fuel models.

Kia is not the only company that is getting rid of successful petrol models. For example, in the autumn, the Ford Focus, once a bestseller on the European market, will no longer be produced. The last example will roll off the assembly line in Germany on November 30, 2025.
