Ukrzaliznytsia has resumed online sales of train tickets after a cyberattack. Certain functions are now available.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Ukrzaliznytsia's Telegram.
“The UZ website and application were restored within 89 hours of non-stop operation after an unprecedented attack on the railway's key operating systems,” the statement said.
It is known that at the first stage only the basic functionality will work, namely: sale and return of tickets to all destinations “deep” 20 days. At the same time, temporary technical interruptions in work are possible due to peak service overloads.
The Uzbek Healthcare Institution noted that no sensitive information was leaked as a result of the cyberattack.
“Railway workers, specialists from the SBU cyber department, CERT-UA at the State Special Communications Service and other partners are working to restore all other services, primarily client services,” the company added.
Ukrzaliznytsia also reported that train stations and ticket offices continue to operate in an enhanced mode throughout the country. In particular, for insurance. Trains, in turn, as in previous ones, run according to schedule.

Ukrzaliznytsia once again confirmed that the service for purchasing tickets and returning them has been restored, but the system is currently experiencing peak loads, which may result in temporary technical interruptions in operation. Therefore, the company asks passengers to use the UZ application only in cases of urgent travel.
“Please note that archives of previously purchased tickets are not available in the app: tickets remain valid, you can find their PDF duplicates in the email specified in the passenger's account. You should also check the spam folder, tickets may have ended up there. To board the train, you can also use screenshots of tickets from the app, and if both ticket options are missing, simply show the receipt for payment for tickets from the banking app when boarding,” the message says.
UZ also added that you can return tickets previously purchased in the app and get a refund for auto-purchase through the form at the link on the main page of the app.
Cyber attack on Ukrzaliznytsia
Let us recall that on Sunday, March 23, it became known that in the morning Ukrzaliznytsia had a technical failure, which made it impossible to buy train tickets online.
In addition, online services for ordering services and reference services were not working due to a cyber attack.
