The Renault Austral crossover has undergone its first restyling. From now on, the car has two-tier optics with a new light pattern. A different radiator grille, bumper and hood also appeared.
RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to the company’s press service.
The range of body colours has been expanded with two new shades – Ultramarine blue and Satin Pearl white. The two-tone paint finish with a black roof is still available. Thanks to the new body elements, the Renault Austral has grown from 4,510 mm to 4,533 mm in length and from 1,825 mm to 1,830 mm in width. The height (1,618 mm) and wheelbase (2,667 mm) have not changed.
The interior has remained almost unchanged, but there are new front seats with enhanced lateral support. They are covered with Egée fabric, which is 98% recycled. Another innovation is improved noise insulation with additional mats in the doors and under the hood. The modified shape of the side mirrors and new powertrain mounts also help reduce noise levels.
There is also an automatic driver recognition system, the camera of which is installed on the left front pillar: the system learns about the person who is sitting behind the wheel and automatically applies individual settings for the seat, microclimate and media system. Renault assures that all personal data is not sent to servers, but is securely stored in the car itself.
With the restyling, Renault Austral lost its entry-level versions with a manual transmission. They had a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo engine (130 hp). Now the base version is a modification with a forced 1.3 turbo engine (160 hp), a 12-volt starter-generator and a variator. At the top of the range is the full-fledged Renault Austral E-Tech hybrid. Its 1.2-liter gasoline engine (130 hp) works in tandem with a traction electric motor (70 hp, 205 Nm). The drive is on the front wheels, the peak power of the system is 200 hp. Sales of updated cars in Europe will begin before the end of spring.
