During the night of May 24, Russia carried out a large-scale combined strike on Ukraine, launching 14 ballistic missiles of the Iskander-M and KN-23 types, along with 250 attack drones. The primary target was the capital, while missile attacks also struck the Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Zaporizhzhia regions, reports the Baltimore Chronicle, citing Air Force.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, air defense units intercepted 6 of the 14 ballistic missiles — all of which were destroyed over Kyiv. Out of the 250 kamikaze drones, 128 were shot down, and another 117 were neutralized by electronic warfare systems.
Damage from the attack was recorded in six regions: Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia.
A total of nine ballistic missiles were detected heading toward Kyiv, with six intercepted by the city’s air defense systems. The consequences of the attack are still being clarified.
