Chinese company Honor plans to invest 10 billion yuan (over $1.38 billion USD) into the development of a new generation of humanoid robots. The announcement was made by the company’s CEO, Zhao Ming, during the China Mobile Global Partner Conference. According to the executive, the project involves the advancement of artificial intelligence technologies and the creation of robots with a record reaction speed—100 times faster than that of a human, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to iXBT.

Honor has already stated that one of the key directions of development will be the creation of an innovative computational architecture to ensure high performance. The company is working on a platform capable of processing information at a level that will allow robots to operate with maximum precision and speed.

According to Zhao Ming, future developments are expected to fundamentally reshape the concept of robotics. It is anticipated that the new robots will not only mimic human behavior but will surpass it in data processing and response speed. Honor envisions these robots being integrated into everyday life, industry, and the service sector.

Additionally, the company has announced the establishment of a specialized division responsible for research and development in this area. Currently, Honor is negotiating with potential partners and component suppliers to bring the project to life, involving experts in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and microelectronics.
