Trump: EU Will Fully Fund U.S. Weapons for Ukraine

The EU will fully cover the cost of U.S. weapons, most of which will be sent to Ukraine, Donald Trump announced at an AI summit in Washington.

The European Union and the United States have reached an agreement under which the EU will cover 100% of the cost of all American weapons and military equipment supplied to European countries. Most of this arsenal will then be transferred to Ukraine, reports Baltimore Chronicle citing the statement of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Trump made the announcement on July 23 during his speech at the Artificial Intelligence Summit in Washington. According to him, the U.S. will send weapons to the EU, and the member states will independently handle the distribution, sending the majority to Ukraine.

“They’re going to spend that money in the U.S. on our defense companies, and we’re going to send them the weapons, and they’re going to distribute them. Honestly, that’s how it should have been three years ago,” Trump said during his address.
