U.S. President Donald Trump arrived at the Israeli Knesset as the Palestinian group Hamas completed the release of all living hostages, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to Times of Israel. During his remarks to journalists, Trump confirmed that the situation in the Gaza Strip had stabilized significantly.
“This is truly a remarkable day. It marks an entirely new beginning, and I have never seen anything like this,” the U.S. President stated, standing beside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. When asked what would happen to Hamas if it violated the ceasefire agreement, Trump responded, “They will comply.”
Meanwhile, a Red Cross representative told Times of Israel that Hamas released an additional 13 hostages, all of whom are currently in satisfactory condition. Earlier, the group had freed the first set of seven Israeli citizens. In total, all 20 hostages have now been released, in line with the first stage of the ceasefire agreement.
President Trump also expressed joy for the released individuals: “We are thrilled for them. They have a bright future ahead. They were incredibly brave,” he said, commenting on the fate of the hostages.
