A section of the White House’s East Wing has been demolished to make way for the construction of a grand ballroom under the direction of U.S. President Donald Trump, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to the Truth Social. On his Truth Social page, President Trump stated that the East Wing is completely separate from the main White House building and that after reconstruction it will “be even more beautiful than ever before.”
According to Trump, for over 150 years, every president has dreamed of having a ballroom in the White House to host grand events, state visits, and large-scale parties. He added that it is a great honor for him to be the first president to finally initiate this long-awaited project.
The President also confirmed that the reconstruction is being funded entirely by private donations, including contributions from “many generous patriots” as well as from his own resources. Earlier, Trump indicated that the total cost of the ballroom construction would be approximately $250 million, according to BBC. He emphasized that the construction work will not affect the functioning of the main White House building.
