Ukraine is in talks with international partners to secure additional Patriot air defense systems. Among the potential suppliers are the United States and Greece. The goal is to reach agreements before the NATO summit scheduled for late June, reports the Baltimore Chronicle with reference to Reuters.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously expressed readiness to acquire ten American Patriot systems to enhance protection against Russian missile threats, including ballistic missiles. According to analysts at Ukrainian Defence Express, as of April, Ukraine had at least seven operational Patriot systems.

The New York Times reported that the U.S. is planning to transfer a Patriot system that was previously stationed in Israel and is currently undergoing maintenance. Logistics for the transfer are being discussed, with possible routes through Germany or Greece.

President Zelensky discussed air defense issues with U.S. President Donald Trump during a meeting at the Vatican, which the Ukrainian leader described as “the best meeting.”
