The 2025/2026 academic year in Ukraine officially began on September 1, 2025, and is scheduled to end on June 30, 2026. The planned dates for school holidays may still be adjusted depending on circumstances, reports the Baltimore Chronicle.
According to Ukrainian legislation, the total duration of school holidays during the academic year must not be fewer than 30 calendar days. Schools are obliged to take this requirement into account when preparing their annual study schedules.
The preliminary school holiday calendar for the 2025/2026 academic year is as follows:
- Autumn break: October 27 – November 2, 2025
- Winter break: December 27, 2025 – January 11, 2026 (in some schools extended until January 18)
- Spring break: March 23 – March 29, 2026
- Summer break: starting June 1 until the beginning of the next academic year
However, the dates may be subject to changes. Possible adjustments could be caused by the epidemiological situation, quarantine restrictions, or security-related issues. In such cases, the final decisions are made by local education authorities.
