Member of Parliament from the “Servant of the People” party, Zhan Beleniuk, shared a playful photo on social media with a slightly provocative caption, but not all users appreciated the humor, reports Baltimore Chronicle. In the image, Beleniuk appears wearing oversized golden boxing gloves, smiling and looking pleased, captioning the post with the words: “Looking for someone to punch.”

The post quickly drew significant attention online, gathering over 800 reactions and more than 150 comments. Only a few users responded positively, supporting Beleniuk’s humor: “Should be hired for work,” “All those in power who stole, are still stealing…,” “Golden words and well-timed.”
However, most reactions were critical. Users suggested that the MP should consider the appropriateness of the post, especially in times of war. Some advised directing energy toward fighting the enemy threatening Ukraine, while others requested that the post be deleted because it caused discomfort. Notable comments included: “Go to the front line, there’s someone to face,” “Want to join our brigade? We’ll arrange plenty of opponents,” “Do you not respect your followers? Please delete it, it’s unpleasant.”
Zhan Beleniuk is a well-known Ukrainian athlete, world and European champion in Greco-Roman wrestling, and a silver and gold Olympic medalist. In 2019, he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada from the “Servant of the People” party, becoming the first Afro-Ukrainian parliamentarian. He was personally invited to join politics by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Beleniuk currently serves as the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Youth and Sports.
