U.S. intelligence has concluded that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no intention of ending the war against Ukraine and remains determined to continue it, reports Baltimore Chronicle citing NBC News. According to intelligence assessments shared with members of the U.S. Congress, Russia shows no signs of readiness to compromise or engage in diplomatic negotiations to end the ongoing conflict.
The report indicates that Putin’s stance on the war has become even more rigid. American intelligence analysts believe that the Russian leader has firmly decided to pursue his political and military goals at any cost. Despite mounting casualties, severe sanctions, and deepening economic difficulties within Russia, Putin, according to the assessment, seeks not only to hold occupied territories but also to expand his country’s influence across the region.
Experts also highlight that the Kremlin is actively restructuring the Russian economy to sustain a prolonged military campaign, increasing spending on defense production and propaganda aimed at justifying the war to its domestic audience.
