Rivne Central City Hospital signed an agreement with the National Health Service for the package “Treatment of adults and children by organ transplantation”; such intervention will be performed on one organ for now – heart.
As Ukrinform reports, this was reported by the Rivne Regional State Administration with reference to the first deputy chairman of the Regional State Administration Sergei Podolin.
«Rivne Central City Hospital signed an agreement with the National Health Service of Ukraine for the package “Treatment of adults and children method of organ transplantation,” the message says.
In general, the transplantation package consists of three areas: the provision of medical services in the pre-transplant period, the transplant itself and the provision of medical services in the post-transplant period. For each of these areas, a certain amount of funds is provided.
«In the Rivne region, this is so far the only institution that will provide such services using state budget funds. According to the package, such intervention will be performed on one organ for now – heart. The transplant fee depends on the transplanted organ: heart – more than 2 million UAH,” Podolin said.
He added that the institution has already carried out 5 heart collections and 4 transplants. Such interventions were carried out in collaboration with specialists from the National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology named after A.A. Shalimova. Currently, the medical institution has 2 transplant coordinators and 3 transplantologists.
As Ukrinform reported, a heart transplant was performed on a 12-year-old girl at the Heart Institute in Kyiv.
