The head of the National Health Service of Ukraine, Natalya Husak, said this at a briefing on the Affordable Medicines program, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Almost 1,400 additional pharmacies have joined the Affordable Medicine program." in 2024 compared to 2023. Most of them are pharmacies in rural areas. At the beginning of 2024 alone, 138 thousand Ukrainians, new unique patients, joined this program. …Already this year, the NHSU paid 670 million UAH to the pharmacy network, this amount is almost three times more than in 2023 (for the same period – ed.), due to the increase in the number of unique patients, the expansion of the network,” said Husak. </
According to her, in 2024 it is planned to expand the Affordable Medicines program. individual drugs in the treatment of mental disorders will also analyze the clinical results of the use of these drugs by patients and the overall effectiveness of the program, monitor the possibility of patients receiving drugs, as well as possible abuses that may arise during the implementation of the program.
As the head of the National Health Insurance Fund added, over the past year, new additions have been made to the Affordable Medicines program. 700 thousand new unique patients joined. She noted that the “Affordable Medicines” program, despite a full-scale war, expanded to immunosuppressive drugs, painkillers, medical products, in particular test strips for determining blood glucose levels.
In general, in 2023, pharmacies institutions cooperate with the Affordable Medicine program almost 4 billion UAH were reimbursed using electronic prescriptions, Husak emphasized.
As Ukrinform reported, the “Affordable Medicine” drug reimbursement program was reimbursed. in 2024, 5.2 billion UAH are provided.
Currently, the “Affordable Medicines” program includes: 532 medicines and medical products that can be obtained using an electronic prescription for free or with a small surcharge. 35% of drugs and medical products in the program are free of charge for patients.
