In the Vinnytsia region, by the end of the year, 18 medical institutions will provide rehabilitation assistance

In the Vinnytsia region, by the end of the year, 18 medical institutions will provide outpatient rehabilitation assistance to defenders with disabilities.

The head of the Vinnitsa Regional Police Department, Sergei Borzov, told an Ukrinform correspondent about this.

«More and more of our defenders are with disabilities, and more and more they need help. By the end of the year, outpatient rehabilitation care will be provided to them, as well as to other patients, by 14 municipal medical institutions, three private and one public,” Borzov said.

According to him, the creation and development of a network of institutions providing rehabilitation assistance for the region is an urgent task. Only last year in the Vinnytsia region, for the first time, 12.8 thousand people were recognized as disabled among the adult population of all categories. In 2022, there were about 7.2 thousand such people.

At the same time, more than 7.6 thousand patients recognized as disabled last year – – people of working age. The provision of rehabilitation services will help a significant number of such patients avoid permanent disability, Borzov emphasized.

As reported, in 2023, a rehabilitation center of the national network RECOVERY and the Rehabilitation Center of the Vinnitsa Regional Clinical Psychoneurological Hospital named after Yushchenko were opened in the Vinnytsia region. At the beginning of 2024, a modern rehabilitation department was presented in the Mogilev-Podolsk community. The same department was created in the Tulchin hospital.
