The government approved the strategy for the development of voluntary free blood donation

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the Strategy for the development of voluntary free donation of blood and blood components for the period until 2028 and approved the operational plan of measures for its implementation in 2024-2026.

Permanent Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk wrote about this in a Telegram following a government meeting, Ukrinform reports.

The Strategy is reported to be aimed at implementing the provisions of Article 428 of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and The EU, which provides for the approximation of Ukrainian legislation and practices to the principles of the EU acquis, in particular in the field of blood services, as well as Directive N 2002/98/EC of the European Parliament and Council of January 27, 2003, establishing standards for the quality and safety of collection, testing, processing, storage and distribution of human blood and its components, and also amends Directive N 2001/83/EC.

As reported, the “єKrov” donation information system will be launched in Ukraine.
