The Ministry of Health reports this, Ukrinform reports.

“As part of cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), the Ministry of Health of Ukraine received 12 vehicles to provide assistance to mobile multidisciplinary mental health teams working in the regions. These vehicles are needed to enable teams to work and provide care to patients in remote communities,” the statement said.

As noted in the Ministry of Health, the mobile multidisciplinary mental health team consists of a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker and nurse/brother and provides assistance focused on recovery, which allows people with severe mental disorders to live fully in their communities.

A mobile multidisciplinary team service model tailored to the Ukrainian context was developed and tested by WHO in partnership with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the National Health Service of Ukraine, international experts and mental health workers in Ukraine. In 2021, the Ministry of Health introduced mobile multidisciplinary teams as a national service delivery model and included them in the Health Assurance Program.

The purchase of vehicles was made possible thanks to the financial support of the Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).</In total, starting in February 2022 , 32 mobile multidisciplinary teams supported by WHO provided more than 80,000 consultations to more than 2,000 people with severe mental disorders.

As the Ministry of Health recalled, WHO had previously donated seven vehicles for mobile multidisciplinary teams .

As Ukrinform reported, over the past week Ukraine received an emergency medical vehicle, a mobile medical laboratory, medical products and medicines as humanitarian aid.
