A comprehensive system is being created in Ukraine that combines the spheres of military medicine, rehabilitation and issues of preserving and restoring mental health.
As Ukrinform reports, this was stated by Deputy Minister of Defense Natalya Kalmykova following a meeting with members of the Kiev Association of Military Attachees, reports the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
«Today, a comprehensive system is being created that combines the spheres of military medicine, rehabilitation and issues of preserving and restoring mental health. In this matter, we are at a new level of integration with the civilian healthcare system, Kalmykova noted.
She added that the department, in close cooperation with foreign partners, combat medics and public organizations, is working to create the most effective model for the comprehensive rehabilitation of military personnel.
During the meeting there was also a discussion. on the development of an integrated approach to providing medical care to military personnel: from the features of providing first emergency aid during evacuation from the battlefield and the work of advanced surgical groups -; to issues of physical and psychological rehabilitation.
As Ukrinform reported, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated another 500 million UAH for the construction of a new medical and rehabilitation building on the basis of the Rivne Regional War Veterans Hospital.
