Photos, videos Ukrzaliznytsia, together with the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Defense, the command of the Medical Forces, demonstrated a medical evacuation train.
The press service of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia reported this in a Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
“The first medical carriage, which has no analogues in the world, was created in early March 2022. At that time there were no drawings or technical documentation, but there was a great need for such cars. Railway workers and doctors converted the first carriage in 4 days. Today, the total number of cars involved in medical evacuation in Ukraine is 62 units, – noted the Chairman of the Board of UZ Evgeniy Lyashchenko.
As noted by Ukrzaliznytsia, medical carriages have been operating on trains since March 2022. All of them, thanks to power from a generator, are completely autonomous and equipped with artificial lung ventilation devices, blood transfusions, cardiac monitors, aspirators, and other medical equipment. There are intensive care cars with oxygen stations; in some cars, in the most critical cases, it is possible to carry out surgical intervention while the train is moving.

Until the end of 2024, railway workers will convert another 8 cars for the needs of medical evacuation and saving the lives of Ukrainian defenders.
