In the Rivne region, the incidence of influenza and ARVI exceeds the epidemic threshold by 16%, but it continues to decline.

As Ukrinform reports, this was reported by the Rivne Regional State Administration with reference to the head of the epidemiological surveillance department of the regional center for disease control and prevention, Yulia Terentyeva.

«Influenza and ARVI incidence continues to decline. The number of hospitalizations of patients with colds also decreased by 9%. To date, the epidemic threshold has been exceeded by 16% and corresponds to the average level of intensity, – Terentyeva said.

As noted, the number of patients with seasonal colds has been decreasing for the fifth week in a row. Over the past seven days, 8,183 cases of ARVI and influenza have been registered in the Rivne region. This is 5% less than the previous week.

Most of the sick – children, which is why 12 schools in the region are working in a mixed and remote format.

The Regional State Administration also informs that a death has been registered among patients diagnosed with COVID-19. An elderly woman who had concomitant diseases of the cardiovascular system died in Rivne.
