The number of visits to the psychiatric hospital relocated from Mariupol has increased significantly – acting director

In the psychiatric hospital relocated from Mariupol to Kiev, visits to doctors regarding psychological and mental disorders have increased significantly over the year.

This was announced at a briefing by the regional coordinator of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program “You Yak”, acting. Director of the KNP “Psychiatric Hospital Mariupol” Ilona Kislitskaya, answering questions from an Ukrinform correspondent.

«Our relocated hospital faced healthy competition, because we are in Kiev, and we have a lot of psychiatric hospitals, they work well here. But despite all these factors, I want to say that at first we had very few patients. And since January of this year, 2,300 patients have already contacted us, this is only in three months of the year. And that's a lot. This is many times more than for the same period last year 2023,” Kislitskaya noted.

According to her, there are requests from various patients, including military personnel and members of their families.

“We provide assistance to everyone, observing all conditions, in accordance with the legal framework. Today there are also appeals from the military. “I am sure that we help them with rehabilitation and carry out all the activities that a person needs,” the doctor added.

As reported, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, together with UNESCO, will be implementing a project to create spaces in 2024. for psychological support in libraries.
