Photo In the shelter of the Lviv Regional Perinatal Center, a maternity ward, an operating room and wards were set up – everything so that little Ukrainians can be born in safe conditions.

The head of the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center, Maxim Kozitsky, announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

«In the shelter of the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center there is now a miniature perinatal center! On an area of more than 700 square meters there is a maternity ward, an operating room, intensive care wards, post-intensive care – everything necessary to bring new life into the world and take care of it,” Kozitsky wrote.

He noted that before the full-scale war, this basement was used exclusively for domestic needs. Even the height of the ceilings no longer allowed – 1.5 meters. To reconstruct the shelter, it was deepened by more than a meter. During the work, almost 125 truckloads of soil were removed. They replaced the sewer system, fire system, ventilation system, and installed internet. Everything meets the requirements of safety, accessibility and state building codes.

2 million hryvnia were allocated for the renatal center in the shelter from an auction held by the Kozitsky Charitable Foundation. Almost 2 million more – charitable assistance from Amdos Management and Vodafone Ukraine. In 2022, 2 million and about 600 thousand hryvnia were allocated from the regional budget, in 2023 – . almost 4 million. About 6 million more – ; means of the perinatal center itself.

Over the past two years, the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center has been the first in Ukraine in terms of the number of medical care provided during childbirth.

As Ukrinform reported, the Lviv Regional Perinatal Center became the first in Ukraine to open a department of assisted reproductive technologies (ART). The center created a full cycle of assistance to married couples – from planning pregnancy to childbirth and accompanying children by a pediatrician.
