“Aid of more than ₴3 million was donated by American grandmother volunteers to the Zhytomyr Regional Clinical Hospital named after. Gerbachevsky. Tama Adelman, Katie Evans, Katherine Sheridan personally delivered five suitcases of equipment from California,” the message says.
As the medical director for emergency care and surgical work of the regional hospital Vitaly Khomenko said, the medical institution received from volunteers a retractor worth about 2 million, video choledochoscope for almost 200 thousand and external fixation devices for 800 thousand. The equipment will be used to treat open fractures and severe injuries with bone tissue defects, as well as to provide assistance to patients with polytrauma.
According to volunteer Katie Evans, the charitable organization Hands on Global, Inc. is collecting aid for Ukraine. In addition, women independently raise funds for equipment for hospitals.
As Ukrinform reported, the Zvyagel multidisciplinary hospital in the Zhytomyr region received from German philanthropists a modern simulator for the rehabilitation of the wounded worth €24 thousand.
