During the week, 132 thousand people fell ill with ARVI, influenza and COVID-19 in Ukraine, while the incidence among adults decreased by 8.6 %.
The Ministry of Health reports this, reports Ukrinform.
"During the week from March 25 to March 31, 132,338 Ukrainians fell ill with ARVI, influenza and COVID-19, of which 74,508 children. 4,275 people were hospitalized, including 2,493 children. COVID-19 was diagnosed in 1,433 Ukrainians, with the most cases in the Chernihiv, Khmelnitsky, Zhytomyr, Dnepropetrovsk and Poltava regions,” the report says.
According to the Ministry of Health, during this period, one death each was registered due to complications of influenza in the Lviv (41-year-old man) and Kharkov (9-year-old child) regions. 21 deaths were also reported among patients who tested positive for COVID-19.
In general, since the beginning of the epidemic season (from October 2, 2023 to March 31, 2024), 4,027,061 Ukrainians have had acute respiratory infections -viral infections, in particular, 152,191 cases of COVID-19 were recorded.
As Ukrinform reported, more than 254 thousand doses of the omicron-specific vaccine against COVID-19 were delivered to Ukraine.
