Rivne and Luhansk regions will adopt medical experience from Lithuania

As Ukrinform reports, this is reported by the Rivne Regional State Administration.

«The hospital and medical university of Rivne region will adopt Lithuanian experience,” the message says.

As noted, the Rivne Regional War Veterans Hospital and the relocated Lugansk State Medical University entered into a trilateral cooperation agreement with the Lithuanian University of Medical Sciences.

The agreement provides for joint training of specialists, scientific research, implementation of joint projects and exchange of employees. The main focus of cooperation will be neurological rehabilitation, in particular after traumatic brain lesions and spinal cord injuries.

In addition, in February, the War Veterans Hospital and Lugansk University agreed on close cooperation in the area of ​​physical rehabilitation. The purpose of this is effective assistance to Ukrainian defenders undergoing treatment in the Rivne region.

Lithuanian University of Medical Sciences is one of the best educational institutions in Lithuania, founded in 1922. Currently, about 7 thousand students study here. As Ukrinform reported, a new building is being built in the Rivne region, the foundation has been laid. The total cost of the facility is 1 billion 304 million UAH Builders began construction of the building in the fall of 2023. Construction is planned to be completed next year – 2025. The new building of the regional hospital for war veterans will provide treatment and rehabilitation of military personnel with complex traumatic brain and spinal injuries.

Lugansk Medical University, Kharkov Institute of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Lugansk Regional Clinical Oncology Center moved to the Rivne region.
