Maryland voter registration deadline falls on Oct. 13 for residents planning to vote in the Nov. 3 general election. The deadline applies to online registration and voter information updates, according to the Baltimore Chronicle.
The Maryland State Board of Elections says online applications must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 13. The same date applies to updating voter information before the election.
What Maryland voters can update before Oct. 13
Residents can use the registration system to review or change several important details.
They can update:
- their name;
- residential address;
- political party affiliation;
- information connected with a mail-in ballot request.
Election officials recommend checking registration details before voting begins. The process can prevent address or registration problems at a polling place.
The official registration service is operated by the Maryland State Board of Elections.

The general election is scheduled for Nov. 3, 2026. Early voting will run for eight days before Election Day.

Early voting centers will operate from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. each day. Election Day polling places will use the same hours.
Anyone already waiting in line at 8 p.m. will still be allowed to vote.
Can you register after the Maryland voter registration deadline?
Missing Oct. 13 does not automatically prevent an eligible Maryland resident from registering.
Maryland permits registration during early voting and on Election Day. Residents should go to the appropriate voting location for their address.
A person registering in person should bring documentation showing their current Maryland address. Accepted examples may include identification or another document containing the voter’s address.
Election Day polling places will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.
