The NBU has determined how banks will work on the first day of the new year.
In Ukraine , on January 1, 2024, the banking system will operate as usual. This applies to the Electronic Payment System (EPS), the Quantitative Accounting System for Certificates of Deposit (CERTIF) and the national payment system “Space”.
This is stated in the resolution of the National Bank.
It is noted that on December 30-31, Ukrainian banks independently make decisions on carrying out foreign exchange transactions for the purchase and sale of non-cash foreign currency on the foreign exchange market of Ukraine, while the cash foreign exchange market operates as usual, and banks can carry out cash transactions.
The NBU notes that from December 30 to January 1, financial messages to and from the State Treasury Service through the SEP are not accepted.
Let us remind you that during the current winter holidays only the following dates will be weekends : December 30 and 31, January 6 and 7. This is Saturday and Sunday. Some employers may provide additional days off for the New Year holidays 2023-2024, but officially in Ukraine during martial law all additional days off are canceled.
