The dollar will become cheaper.
In January 2024, the cash dollar exchange rate is expected to depreciate in Ukraine. In particular, in exchange offices, according to the forecast, it will be 37.15-38.5 UAH, while on the evening of December 30, 2023, they bought currency at an average of 39 UAH, and sold it at 39.66 UAH.
The publication Obozrevatel writes about this with reference to financial analyst Alexey Kozyrev.
He noted that a similar situation will be observed in banks:
- According to the forecast, a cash dollar will cost them 37.1-38.6 UAH.
- on the evening of December 30, 2023, they set the rate at an average level of 38.2/38.95 UAH (buy/sell)
The spread (the difference between the best prices of orders for sale and purchase at the same point in time) in banks and exchangers will range from 20 to 60 kopecks. At the same time, it is expected that most exchangers will have “fluctuations from 20 to 25 kopecks.”
In general, the analyst stated, “somewhere from January 1 to January 10,” an increase in the supply of currency on the market is expected – since people will celebrate the winter holidays one way or another. At the same time, exchangers, he noted, “will try to buy it at a reduced rate.”
